The ethics of the clever move
Cleverness without a spine becomes fraud, or worse, a waste of other people's trust. The college has a short list of refusals.
If the move requires someone to be fooled after the weekend, it is not a hack. It is a lie with extra steps.

Why this paper exists
Hackathons, models, and rooms are full of people you can outmanoeuvre cheaply. The point of this college is to outwit systems and models — not to strip-mine trust.

The weekend test
Would you still be proud of the move if the judge, the sponsor, and the user sat with you on Monday and you walked them through it slowly. If the answer depends on them never knowing, you are not hacking. You are hiding.
Faked live demos that claim to be live, scraped private data, dark patterns in a 'for good' wrapper, using a model to impersonate a person — all of these fail the Monday table. They also make you worse at the real skill, because you stop looking for the grain and start looking for cover.
Who cannot answer back
Point cleverness at systems, incentives, tired processes, models, your own team's slop. Do not point it at patients, kids, people who did not opt into your experiment, or a sponsor you will lie to for a prize.
The original labs that used the word hacker had a working ethic: leave the system better understood, not more extracted. Curiosity is not a moral free pass. It is a reason to be more careful, because you can see further.
Outwitting the model, not the user
This faculty's last move is the one that matters in 2026: the model will help you generate plausible harm at scale. Your advantage is not speed. It is the ability to refuse. Taste is a moral skill as much as an aesthetic one.
If a move outwits AI by becoming more human, keep it. If it outwits AI by becoming more fake, you have joined the intern.
Drill
Take your current clever idea. Write the Monday-table version in four sentences, as if the people affected were in the room. If you have to change the idea for that paragraph to be sayable, change the idea.
